The story of Easter continually provides a breath of fresh air, something we all need right now.
We are excited to celebrate together the hope and victory of Jesus’ resurrection on April 4 at 10:00am.
You are invited to join us for Highland’s Easter experience.
As we continue to navigate life during a global pandemic, we recognizes that it may not be safe or wise yet for some to worship together in person. Highland is committed to continuing to make it as easy as possible for everyone to watch and engage in our services, which is why Easter at Highland will be available in-person and online.
Arrive at church a little early to participate in “flowering of the cross” as you walk into the building. It’s a beautifully fragrant, colorful way to experience the joy and promise of Jesus’ resurrection.
When you arrive at Highland, you will see designated reserved parking spots specifically for our guests.
For the safety of everyone, masks will be required, and social distancing protocols will be followed. We ask that you attend only with members of your household. Masks should remain properly worn throughout the entire service, expect for during communion. Please remain socially distanced with your group during the service.
Our service will last about 50 minutes. We will spend time together worshipping God through song, lifting up our prayers, sharing communion, and hearing a sermon based in Scripture. You are invited to engage each of these elements as we grow together in the knowledge of our Savior. We can’t wait to share the morning with you!
You will see people in everything from jeans to more formal attire, so come wearing whatever you feel most comfortable in.
If you have little ones, know we believe children are an important part of our church. All children are welcomed and invited to be a part of our worship services. Don’t worry, we don’t mind the giggles, wiggles, or cries.
We have prepared a couple of opportunities for your children to more fully engage with the bright hope of Easter. When you enter the building on Easter morning, there will be an activity specifically for the morning and an activity box, Eastertide Faith Formation at Home, for you to take with you and guide your family from Easter to Pentecost.
As you enter the auditorium, you will see computer kiosks available for you to check in and print your child's name tag. The nursery, available for babies and toddlers, will open at 9:50am. Nursery attendants will be wearing masks, and CDC guidelines on cleaning and disinfecting will be followed.
During the sermon, children 3 years-5th grade are invited to join His Kids Worship. This is a special time of worship and there will be a dismissal moment during service for you to escort your children to the South Foyer.
Sunday, March 28
It’s a Highland tradition for our children usher us into Holy Week with our annual Palm Procession. Every child is invited to participate by picking up a palm branch at the auditorium entrances and join in the procession immediately following the welcome at 10:00am. Listen for the worship leader to invite the children to bring their branches to the platform.
On Palm Sunday our children will usher us into Holy Week with our annual Palm Procession. Children of all ages are invited to pick up a palm branch as they enter the auditorium. At the beginning of the worship service listen for the invitation for the children to bring their branches to the front, waving them as they walk down the aisle.
We understand that not all families are able to return to in-person worship at this time, so we are also offering a virtual way to participate in the palm parade for children who are unable to join in person. Palm branches and instructions will be available for pickup at the church office beginning Wednesday, March 24 at 1:00pm.
Friday, April 2 at 5:30pm
As we move towards Easter, please join us for a one hour in-person and online service.
You will experience a time of worship, remembrance, and reflection as we focus our minds on Christ’s sacrifice.
During the Good Friday service, the Nursery Suite will be open for babies and toddlers, and we will offer an hour-long His Kids Worship for children ages 3 years old and up. The Nursery and His Kids Worship will open at 5:20pm, and the children’s check-in kiosks will be available as you enter the building.
We encourage you to take Friday evening and all day Saturday to reflect on the death of Jesus and the coming victory of Easter Sunday.
