Restore Highland Group Resources

Here at Highland, we believe in the power of community, in the power of God that is able to be encountered through being in intentional relationships with people. The vision of Restore Highland Groups stems from Highland's overall Restoration Vision, in which  God is allowing and inviting the Highland community into partnership as He is restoring all things.

RHGs are designed in a way that acknowledges that Highland can feel really big sometimes, but also that Highland strives to allow individuals to grow together on a smaller, deeper level.

Objective: Understand The Mission And Vision Of Restore Highland Groups

Summary Restore Highland Groups have been designed to be a vessel for connection, accountability, and growth. The desire for a RHG is to lead to transformation of those involved in the community. These groups commit to each other, a rhythm of discipleship, and to move towards restoration.

Objective: Learn How To Craft And Deliver A Piece Of Your Own Life Map, A Part Of Your Personal Story.

Summary The sharing of a section of a Life Map should be 3-8 minutes in length and highlights a small portion of the restorative work that God is doing in a person's life. Groups will begin at the first level upon the formation of the group . Each semester that a group continues together, there will be the opportunity to explore the next level of the Life Map.

WhyPart of the vision of a Restore Highland Group is to foster an atmosphere where you not only know others in your group but you are also known by the people who you are in community with from week to week.

Summary The main task of the Care Contact is to be the eyes and ears of the group, and to be the bridge between the people in the community at the appropriate areas of support. There is a network of pastoral teams who have been equipped to assist a variety of needs, whether that be spiritual, physical, emotional, or financial.

Why: Highland's desire is to equip everyone at Highland to care for one another out of the love that is shown by God. The Care Contact is responsible for paying special attention to the health and potential needs of the group.

OverviewOverview Of The RHG Rhythm

Summary: Restore Highland Groups have been designed with a rhythm that leads to transformation through the community of God. This rhythm has four components: Opening Time, Check-In, Time of Focus, and Time of Prayer.

Objective: Understand The Function And Key Parts Of The Opening Time

SummaryThe Opening Time has two components: (1) Welcome and (2) A Life Map. Both of these are structured in a way to preview the topic that will be the point of discussion later on in the night and to set-up an intentionality for vulnerability.

Objective: Understand The Accountability Component Of A RHG Community

SummaryThis is the accountability portion of the night where a person will share the overall mood/emotion of their week and discussing how last week's "I Will Statement" went.

Objective: Understand The Function And Objective Of The Focus Time

Summary The Focus Time of a RHG gathering allows for the group to directly engage with God's restorative work in the world and in their lives. Each week a group will focus on a different Christian principle and develop an "I Will" statement for the week.

Objective: To Provide Leaders With Three Options For Prayer For Their RHG

SummaryThe prayer time for an RHG seeks to be a place that members of the group are able to engage with each other and with God through prayer. The mission of this time is to tell the other members of the group how they can specifically pray for you and how you can pray for them.
